Taos the Cow Dog

This was the photo my Dad saw that won his heart.

My name is Taos. I am a Saint Bernard. And I am a Cow Dog.

I was born October 19th, 2012 and have been a part of Mom and Dad's family since December 17th, 2012.

My favorite things are bully sticks, Alfredo sauce, playing in the snow, my cats, my friend, "Ted," playing in my pool or the ponds, leading Dad's horse, Bucko, sleeping stretched out as BIG as I can get on Mom and Dad's bed, and, of course, being a Cow Dog.

I love to go to work with Dad. He took me with him to the
feedlot for the whole first year of my life. I am a Cow Dog.

Mom and Dad were in Las Vegas at the National Finals Rodeo when they chose my name. I am named after Taos Muncy, the bronc rider. They say he's pretty good -- but I bet I could out-Cow Dog him any day.

I have big soft ears and even bigger floppy paws. I have a big black spot on the side of my nose that Mom calls my "kissing spot."

I have heard Mom and Dad talk about how I don't know how big I am -- but I think they don't know how little I truly THINK I am! I remind them that I am their baby constantly by sitting on their laps, trying to fit into tiny places and insisting that I sit in the FRONT of the pick up instead of riding in the back.

Part of my duties at the feed lot include helping Dad get his horse, Bucko, to the barn to be saddled. I am a Cow Dog.

Even though I live on a farm, I get to sleep inside. Mom says it is a good thing I have a nice smooth coat so I stay clean. And I LOVE to take a bath, so that helps keep my family happy with me being inside.

Being a Cow Dog is hard work; I have to make sure I get PLENTY to eat (and top almost all of my meals with a little Alfredo sauce.) I also have to make sure I get PLENTY of sleep.

Many would say I am spoiled -- I disagree. I'm just a big dog living large. You can follow my adventures here on Mom's blog. I hope you can keep up with me --  because I am a Cow Dog.

In case you need to catch up -- here are the links to my stories.
